About the role#
The Sales Engineering Co-op program offers a unique look at the intersection of sales, engineering, and business. You will work alongside experienced sales professionals to learn how complex engineered systems are specified, sold, and supported. This position focuses on supporting the medical piped equipment and laboratory markets while you develop a strong understanding of consultative, relationship-driven technical sales.
What you'll do#
- Support the sales team with quotation, submittal, and follow-up activities.
- Learn about the Medical Gas and Laboratory Gas industries, including products, applications, markets, and sales cycles.
- Participate in customer visits, sales calls, and training sessions with senior staff.
- Assist with product and application training materials and presentations.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and account tracking.
- Maintain and update customer and opportunity data in CRM systems.
- Learn about industry regulations, specifically NFPA 99.
- Understand how to go to market with a distribution network.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS or BA degree in Engineering, Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Interest in technical or consultative sales and engineering-driven products.
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with engineers, contractors, and customers.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with CRM systems is a plus.
- Technical curiosity regarding engineering systems.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid co-op position for the Winter 2027 term.
- The role is on-site with rotations in Harrison, Ohio, and Mount Juliet, Tennessee.
- Travel is required for customer site visits, and travel expenses are covered.
