About the role#
Marmon Holdings is seeking an Internal Audit intern to join our corporate team for the summer of 2027. This position provides hands-on experience with audit practices within a diversified holding company. You will work across various industries and business models, gaining insight into risk assessment, corporate governance, and audit methodology.
What you'll do#
- Support audit engagements by assisting with planning, walkthroughs, and the execution of audit procedures.
- Test internal controls, operational processes, and financial data under the supervision of experienced auditors.
- Document audit work papers, findings, and action plans to assist management.
- Meet with business unit leadership to understand specific processes and risks.
- Contribute to special projects including data analysis and process improvement initiatives.
- Travel to site locations as required by the audit schedule, which may include two separate full-week trips to manufacturing facilities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Accounting or Finance.
- Junior or Senior academic status with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Completion of, or current enrollment in, audit coursework.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
- A strong interest in pursuing a CPA or CIA certification.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-hire drug screen.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Chicago, Illinois.
- The program runs from May 24, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
- Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
- This position is paid.
