About the role#
As an AI Co-op, you will gain hands-on experience applying data science and machine learning techniques to real-world business problems. You will work with modern tools and datasets to explore data, build predictive models, and generate insights. This 4-month program runs from January 5th to April 22nd, 2027, and provides exposure to the end-to-end lifecycle of AI solutions within an enterprise environment.
What you'll do#
- Explore, prepare, and validate data to ensure quality and consistency for modeling.
- Build and evaluate machine learning models, including experiment design and documentation.
- Prototype generative AI solutions with a focus on safety and effectiveness.
- Develop reproducible code and workflows for data processing using Python and SQL.
- Communicate insights through visualizations, reports, and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support feature engineering and model performance optimization.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, R, or Java.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and tools like scikit-learn or PyTorch.
- Experience working with SQL or other data querying languages.
- Understanding of version control systems like Git and collaborative coding practices.
Location & details#
- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 5th - April 22nd, 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid. You are expected to be in the office Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
- Compensation: This is a paid position with an expected salary range of $54,600 to $72,150 CAD annually, pro-rated based on the length of the work term.
