About the role#
Major League Baseball is hiring a Legal Intern for the Department of Investigations. You will assist with sensitive and confidential matters involving player, umpire, and personnel conduct. This role provides experience at the intersection of sports, compliance, and investigations.
What you'll do#
- Support investigations into allegations regarding performance-enhancing substances, sports gambling, domestic violence, off-field misconduct, and other policy violations.
- Gather and analyze public information from government records, social media, and news reports.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on various topics.
- Monitor and develop alerts for social media updates and court filings.
- Secure and preserve data, including organizing documents on a review platform.
- Prepare investigators for witness interviews.
- Write timely reports that present information in an organized format.
- Perform other duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an American Bar Association Accredited Law School.
- Strong research, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage deliverables under time-sensitive deadlines.
- Attention to detail and organization.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
