About the role#
This internship is for college students, specifically those in Civil Engineering or Construction Management programs. It is a field-oriented role for those interested in growing into future Superintendent positions. You will follow instructions from Superintendents, Blasting Supervisors, and Drill Operators while working in various weather conditions. Out-of-town travel and overtime may be required.
What you'll do#
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
- Participate in daily safety meetings, as well as monthly Foreman and periodic job meetings.
- Perform construction laboring tasks, including pumping blast holes dry with a water pump.
- Load and unload explosives from trucks.
- Carry buckets of stemming stone to stem blast holes.
- Keep the job site clean and organized.
- Submit accurate, signed time cards to your Blaster or Foreman each week.
- Work without supervision on occasion.
- Perform physical labor on uneven and loose surfaces outdoors.
- Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Stoop and bend for the majority of your shift.
What you'll need#
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Reliable personal transportation.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check for the ATF.
- Physical agility and the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Previous experience as a construction laborer is helpful but not required.

This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship for Summer 2027. Positions are available in Gardiner, ME; Auburn, NH; Brattleboro, VT; Argyle, NY; Watertown, NY; Millford, MA; Rocky Hill, CT; Bethel, PA; Winchester, VA; Liberty, NC; Lebanon, TN; and Douglasville, GA.
