About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. We are looking for college students, ideally in Civil Engineering or Construction Management programs, who want a hands-on, field-oriented experience. This role is designed for individuals interested in growing a career toward future Superintendent positions. You will work in various weather conditions and may be required to travel out of town or work overtime.
What you'll do#
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
- Attend daily safety briefings, as well as periodic job and foreman meetings.
- Perform general construction laboring tasks, sometimes working without direct supervision.
- Load and unload explosives from trucks.
- Use water pumps to dry out blast holes.
- Carry buckets of stemming stone to fill blast holes.
- Keep the job site clean and organized.
- Submit accurate, signed time cards to your foreman every week.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college program, preferably Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
- A valid driver license with a good record and your own transportation.
- Physical agility to work on uneven, loose surfaces outdoors.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to stoop and bend for the majority of your shift.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and an ATF criminal background check.
- A safety-focused mindset and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Previous experience as a construction laborer is helpful but not required.
