About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. We are looking for college students, preferably in Construction Management or Civil Engineering programs, who want a hands-on, field-oriented experience. This role is intended for those interested in growing their career into future Superintendent positions. You will work in various weather conditions and may be required to travel out of town or work overtime.
What you'll do#
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
- Participate in daily safety meetings, as well as periodic job and foreman meetings.
- Perform construction labor tasks, including pumping blast holes dry, loading and unloading explosives, and carrying buckets of stemming stone.
- Keep the job site clean and organized.
- Work unsupervised on occasion.
- Submit accurate, signed time cards to your Blaster or Foreman each week.
- Learn the safety requirements for working on construction sites and around explosives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college program.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record and your own transportation.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check for the ATF.
- Physical agility to work on uneven, loose surfaces outdoors.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to stoop and bend for the majority of your shift.
- Previous construction labor experience is helpful but not required.
