About the role#
This internship is designed for college students interested in field-oriented construction work, particularly those pursuing degrees in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. The role focuses on hands-on experience and provides a path for those looking to develop into future Superintendent positions. You will work under the direction of Superintendents, Blasting Supervisors, and Drill Operators. This position requires the ability to work in various weather conditions, and you may be required to travel out of town or work overtime.
What you'll do#
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
- Participate in daily, periodic, and monthly safety and job meetings.
- Perform construction laboring tasks as directed.
- Load and unload explosives from trucks.
- Pump blast holes dry using a water pump.
- Carry buckets of stemming stone to stem blast holes.
- Keep the job site clean and organized.
- Submit accurate, signed time cards on a weekly basis.
- Work unsupervised when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a college student, preferably in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
- A valid driver license with a good driving record and your own transportation.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check for the ATF.
- Physical agility and the ability to work on uneven or loose surfaces outdoors.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to stoop and bend for extended periods.
- Prior experience as a construction laborer is helpful but not required.

This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship for Summer 2027. Positions are available in Gardiner, ME; Auburn, NH; Brattleboro, VT; Argyle, NY; Watertown, NY; Millford, MA; Rocky Hill, CT; Bethel, PA; Winchester, VA; Liberty, NC; Lebanon, TN; and Douglasville, GA.
