About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Engineering Development Internship based in Lockport, New York. You will join the Compressor Product Development team to support the launch of automotive air conditioning compressor designs. This is an on-site, hands-on role where you will participate in the full product development lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the build, preparation, and testing of compressor samples.
- Coordinate test programs and analyze data to draw conclusions.
- Apply engineering practices to develop design solutions.
- Operate machine tools to produce product components.
- Participate in product cost and quality improvement initiatives.
- Work within cross-functional teams to support customer program launches.
- Meet with outside suppliers and vendors.
- Attend meetings, training sessions, and seminars.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering (Freshman level and above).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills.
- Experience with precision rotating equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret GD&T.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage time across multiple projects.
- AutoCAD drafting knowledge is preferred.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work well in a team.
