About the role#
Magna International is hiring a Quality Engineering Co-op Student for a Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Newmarket, Ontario. You will work within the Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group to support quality assurance processes during product development and manufacturing.
What you'll do#
- Assist with Customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) timing and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements.
- Support plant trials for engineering changes, tool moves, and new program launches.
- Help resolve launch and warranty issues, including participating in reviews and analysis.
- Prepare and maintain control plans, assembly work instructions, and component receiving inspection instructions.
- Participate in Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Bill of Material (BOM) reviews.
- Support pre-production builds and conduct periodic reviews of in-process testing.
- Investigate quality-related issues, prepare 8D reports, and ensure issues are closed in a timely manner.
- Develop customer contact lists and participate in document linkage reviews.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college diploma or university degree program in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.
