About the role#
Lyric Opera of Chicago is hiring two Marketing Content Interns for the Fall 2026 term. This position offers students a chance to learn about marketing, content development, and public relations within a professional performing arts environment. Interns will support the department during the opening of the season and contribute to marketing and sales planning.
What you'll do#
- Research niche audience development opportunities and compile prospect lists.
- Monitor and curate content for social media channels.
- Create content for major social media platforms, email, and web distribution.
- Maintain press contact lists and influencer logs.
- Distribute press releases and assist with the preparation and management of press events.
- Manage RSVP lists for special events.
- Perform title research and assist with list maintenance.
- Attend meetings to learn about the operations of an in-house marketing and communications team.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in marketing, communications, journalism, media studies, or a related field.
- Preference for rising seniors, graduate students, or postgraduates who finished their degree within the past year.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Google Drive and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Ability to work well within a team.

- Schedule: 20 to 29.5 hours per week.
