About the role#
As a Planogram and Visual Space Planning Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in how products, displays, and categories are organized within our stores. You will work alongside professionals in space planning, merchandising, and store operations to create intuitive and engaging shopping experiences. This 10-week summer program focuses on using data and visual planning principles to balance customer needs with operational and business objectives.
What you'll do#
- Support the development, maintenance, and evaluation of planograms and space-planning solutions.
- Analyze product, category, store, and space-related data to identify merchandising opportunities.
- Evaluate product placement and visual organization to improve shopability and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Merchandising, Store Operations, and Space Planning.
- Translate data and observations into clear recommendations.
- Present project findings through visual storytelling and presentations.
- Learn how store layouts, fixtures, and product dimensions influence merchandising decisions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Retail Management, Business, Marketing, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Engineering, Analytics, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical, spatial awareness, and organizational skills.
- Ability to balance analytical thinking with creative problem-solving.
- Familiarity with space-planning, CAD, design, or analytics software is preferred.
- Previous retail, academic project, or professional experience is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site at the Lowe’s Store Support Center in Mooresville, North Carolina.
- The program runs for 10 weeks from May 24, 2027, to July 30, 2027.
- This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
