About the role#
Loureiro Engineering Associates is looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Building and Land Engineering team. This position provides hands-on experience in civil site design and land development. You will work on active projects alongside experienced engineers and surveyors to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist with design tasks including site layout, grading, drainage, and utility planning.
- Support the preparation of plans, drawings, and permit applications.
- Use software like AutoCAD and HydroCAD for engineering design and analysis.
- Conduct site visits and field investigations under the guidance of a licensed engineer.
- Work with survey crews to collect and document field data.
- Contribute to construction oversight and reporting.
- Take on other engineering-related duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior, senior, or graduate student in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- A strong understanding of civil engineering principles.
- Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, HydroCAD, or MicroStation.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Motivation to learn new tools and take initiative.
- Prior internship or relevant experience is a plus.
