Student Safety Specialist (Content Reviewer)

About the role#

As a Student Safety Specialist, you will provide a human layer of review for web filtering and safety monitoring solutions. You will monitor, analyze, and act on alerts flagged by technology as potentially concerning, such as self-harm, violence, or bullying. This role is essential for protecting students and informing the development of safety solutions.

What you'll do#

• Actively monitor queues to review and act on alerts flagging potentially concerning student activity.
• Analyze flagged content to determine context and student intent.
• Identify harmful online behavior and communicate with clients to advise on appropriate responses.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Technical Support, Sales, and Customer Success, to resolve client needs.
• Review escalated alerts and contact school officials by phone to prompt urgent action.
• Identify emerging issues and trends to inform solution development.
• Participate in team projects and initiatives.
• Work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, clients, and emergency services.
• Ability to objectively view and categorize sensitive or offensive materials.
• Dedication to protecting data privacy and confidentiality.
• Excellent organizational and reasoning skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a sense of urgency.
• Ability to closely follow documented processes and maintain clear records.
• Familiarity with current social media trends and language.
• Experience in crisis prevention, counseling, or trust and safety is preferred but not required.

• This position is remote and based in Texas, United States.
• This is a part-time, on-call role with a rolling term.
• This is a paid position.
