About the role#
As a Student Safety Specialist, you will provide a human layer of review for technology-flagged internet activity. You will analyze content identified as potentially concerning or dangerous to help protect students and support school clients. This is a part-time, on-call position requiring flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
What you'll do#
- Monitor queues to review alerts regarding potentially concerning student activity.
- Analyze flagged content, such as self-harm, violence, or bullying, to determine context and student intent.
- Identify harmful online behavior and communicate findings to clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve client needs.
- Review escalated alerts and contact school officials by phone for urgent matters.
- Identify emerging trends to help inform future solution development.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
- Dedication to maintaining data privacy and confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational and reasoning skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a sense of urgency.
- Willingness to objectively view and categorize sensitive or offensive materials.
- Familiarity with social media trends and language.
- Ability to follow documented processes closely.

- This role is fully remote within the United States, with a primary base in Texas.
- The position is part-time and on-call with a rolling term.
- This is a paid role.
