About the role#
As a Nurse Extern at Wythe County Community Hospital, you work with the patient care team to support clinical operations. This is a PRN position that offers hands-on experience in an acute care setting. You will work under the guidance of a registered nurse to provide care and support to our patients.
What you'll do#
- Perform direct patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
- Work alongside the patient care team to meet patient needs.
- Document the care you provide during your shift.
- Monitor and record patient conditions, communicating updates to your supervising RN.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Registered Nurse program.
- Completion of at least the first semester of nursing school.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, which must be obtained within 30 days of your start date.

- Location: Wytheville, Virginia.
- Employment type: Part-time, PRN.
- Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
