About the role#
As a Nurse Extern at Saline Memorial Hospital, you will gain hands-on clinical experience while working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will rotate throughout the facility to build your clinical skills and critical thinking abilities. This role is designed to support your development as you transition toward your nursing career.
What you'll do#
- Perform direct patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
- Document care and monitor patient conditions, communicating updates to the supervising RN.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including nutrition, hygiene, and ambulation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, transfers, and discharges.
- Provide education to patients and families based on their learning needs.
- Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
- Maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Support performance improvement initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited nursing school.
- Completion of all hands-on check-offs.
- One year or less of nursing school remaining.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Location & details#
- Location: Benton, Arkansas.
- Schedule: Part-time, PRN with varied shifts (7:00AM to 7:00PM or 7:00PM to 7:00AM).
- Work Modality: On-site.
