About the role#
As a Nurse Extern, you will work under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. This role provides an opportunity to gain clinical experience while supporting the patient care team at our facility in Mayfield, Kentucky.
What you'll do#
- Perform direct patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions to your supervising nurse.
- Document the care you provide.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as nutrition, hygiene, and ambulation.
- Help coordinate patient care by collaborating across different disciplines.
- Provide education to patients and their families based on their specific learning needs.
- Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of every patient.
- Support our performance improvement philosophy.
- Maintain positive professional relationships with patients, families, and coworkers.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a 3rd year student or higher in a School of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.

- Location: Mayfield, Kentucky.
- Employment type: Part time, PRN.
- This is a paid position.
