About the role#
As a Co-Op Cook at Park Cafe, you will work under the direction of the Chef, Sous Chef, and Chef de Partie. This is an entry-level culinary position focused on preparing and presenting menu items while maintaining high standards for safety and cleanliness.
What you'll do#
- Prepare food for service, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and making sauces.
- Follow recipes as determined by the Chef to ensure consistency in seasoning, portioning, and appearance.
- Use scales and measurements accurately during food production.
- Maintain your station by cleaning up and managing leftover food.
- Stock inventory and assist with plating food in service areas.
- Report any issues that compromise culinary standards to the Chef.
- Follow all company policies and safety regulations to keep the kitchen environment safe.
What you'll need#
- You must be working towards a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- You need all certifications required to comply with provincial regulations.
- A Food Handling Certification is an asset.
- You should be able to build positive relationships with co-workers and visitors.
