About the role#
As an R&D Co-Op, you will be treated as a coatings chemist in training with a focus on professional growth and skill development. You will work in a team environment, gaining exposure to various product types ranging from metal to concrete coatings and decorative to high performance systems. Throughout the term, you will interact with chemical suppliers, marketing brand managers, and manufacturing operations while taking on increasingly complex projects.
What you'll do#
- Create sample batches of paint for formula development.
- Conduct performance testing on lab samples and competitive products.
- Document data and interpret or report results.
- Assist with production support through the scale-up process and batch adjustments.
- Train cross-functionally across different product platforms.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate status pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a comparable scientific field.
- Knowledge of laboratory practices and safety standards.
- A background in coatings or chemical processes is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $25.00 per hour.
- Modality: On-site.
