About the role#
As an intern in our Expert Services practice, you will work alongside experienced professionals on forensic accounting, investigative, valuation, and dispute consulting engagements. You will receive guidance and feedback from your team while gaining exposure to real-world business and legal matters. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role based in Chicago.
What you'll do#
- Support engagement teams by preparing forensic accounting analyses, financial models, and business valuations.
- Research and analyze accounting, financial, and business information to help evaluate key issues in disputes.
- Assist with the development of damages claims and other financial calculations.
- Organize, reconcile, and analyze financial records and large data sets to identify trends and inconsistencies.
- Gather information from client materials, research sources, team discussions, and site visits.
- Contribute to workpapers, expert reports, proposals, and presentations.
- Review analyses and supporting materials for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to quality standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above is preferred.
- Foundational understanding of accounting principles and financial-statement analysis.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines, incorporate feedback, and produce high-quality work.
- A collaborative and proactive approach to team-based client service.
- Interest in forensic accounting, investigations, valuation, and dispute consulting.
