About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Kroger, you will work directly with customers and the pharmacy team to provide essential health services. You will help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment while ensuring accurate prescription processing and patient care. This role involves direct interaction with a diverse range of customers, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and recommend over the counter medications.
- Input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system.
- Dispense medications and contact prescribers for necessary authorizations.
- Process third party insurance claims and assist customers with billing questions.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills or refills.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by checking incoming orders and stocking shelves.
- Maintain department cleanliness and organization.
- Notify management of any accidents, safety risks, or incidents.
- Promote a respectful environment for both associates and customers.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively and manage conflict in a professional manner.
- Commitment to maintaining honesty and integrity regarding business and patient information.
- Capability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
