About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support our pharmacy operations while gaining hands-on experience in a retail environment. You will work alongside pharmacists to ensure efficient department workflows and provide high-quality care to our customers. This role requires leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining safety and regulatory standards.
What you'll do#
- Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
- Assist the pharmacist with responsibilities that do not require professional pharmacist judgment.
- Perform the essential functions and tasks of a Pharmacy Certified Technician.
- Support pharmacy workflow by leading shifts, delegating station rotations, and providing training support to associates.
- Enter patient information into the system accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain pharmacy safety standards, act as a subject matter expert on safety, and identify unsafe conditions for management.
- Reinforce compliance with HIPAA regulations, local, state, and federal laws.
- Assist with Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services and post-fill audits.
- Follow company guidelines for electronic fund transactions and restricted item sales.
- Serve as an alternative representative for store-wide meetings.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited pharmacy school program.
- Completion of national or state intern registration, certification, or licensure as required.
- At least 18 years of age.
- 1 year of retail experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to obtain or maintain immunization certification.
- Current CPR certification.
- Understanding of cash control and loss prevention guidelines.
