About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support our pharmacy team in providing exceptional service to our customers. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to ensure the accurate and safe dispensing of medications while maintaining a clean and welcoming department. This role is a part-time position based in Louisville, Colorado.
What you'll do#
- Welcome customers and answer questions about products throughout the store.
- Input patient and prescription information into the computer system.
- Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills or refills.
- Dispense medications accurately and bag them for customer delivery.
- Provide drug counseling and offer recommendations for over the counter medications.
- Discuss pharmaceutical products with customers and prescribers.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Contact prescribers and insurance companies to resolve authorization or coverage issues.
- Process third party insurance information and facilitate customer purchases.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused bottles.
- Maintain a clean department and report any safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a United States school of pharmacy.
- A current state issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding all business and patient information.
- Skill in managing conflict in a nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
- Capability to work effectively in a high-volume environment.
- Willingness to follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
- Commitment to providing support to diverse groups, including older adults, minors, and individuals with special needs.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
