About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the daily operations of our pharmacy department. You will help create a welcoming environment for customers while assisting the pharmacy team in meeting sales and quality standards. This role requires a balance of technical tasks and direct customer interaction.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and recommend over the counter medications.
- Accurately input patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy system.
- Interpret and fill prescriptions, including dispensing correct medications.
- Facilitate communication with prescribers to obtain necessary authorizations.
- Manage third party insurance processing and contact insurance companies as needed.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Maintain the pharmacy area by stocking orders, cleaning, and organizing inventory.
- Assist customers with questions and provide support to diverse groups, including older adults and individuals with special needs.
- Report safety risks, accidents, or incidents to the pharmacist on duty or management.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with honesty and integrity.
- Capability to work cooperatively and manage conflict in a professional manner.
