About the role#
KPMG Canada is seeking an undergraduate student for a 3-month co-op position within our Global Mobility Services Tax team in Vancouver. This role offers the opportunity to gain professional experience while working on client tax engagements during the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Join a tax engagement team to support the tax compliance needs of our clients.
- Gather, organize, and analyze client tax information for accuracy.
- Review tax documents to request missing information and draft client communications.
- Assist with the analysis and reconciliation of employee compensation data and payroll-related tasks.
- Help prepare Canadian and US personal tax returns for international assignees.
- Communicate with tax authorities regarding notices and draft responses with supporting documentation.
- Conduct preliminary research on tax and payroll regulations.
- Work with team members to streamline workflows and meet tax deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or completion of a post-secondary undergraduate degree with a focus in Accounting, Tax, Business, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong motivation to take on diverse challenges.
- A track record of managing competing priorities and deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A desire to learn and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Consistent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools or analytics platforms is an asset.
