About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Mechanical Engineer Co-op position based in Hubbell, Michigan. You will provide engineering support for the design, development, and selection of hardware components. You will apply mechanical engineering principles to assist with plant operations and maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Assist the engineering team with capital and maintenance projects.
- Create and update drawings using CAD systems, including Process and Instrumentation diagrams.
- Source quotes for parts from machine shops and manage their installation on-site.
- Design components to improve plant safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Reverse-engineer parts to support cost-reduction initiatives.
- Provide hands-on assistance to the Maintenance department during shut-downs.
- Support R&D projects and collaborate with Chemical Engineering co-ops.
- Help troubleshoot and solve problems related to plant equipment.
What you'll need#
- You must have completed at least one year of a degree program in Mechanical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
