About the role#
This Engineering Co-op position supports the operation of our underground mine and surface production facility in Lyons, Kansas. It provides an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to industrial problems and gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Collect and report daily operational data.
- Participate in regular operations meetings to learn about day-to-day management.
- Assist the plant team in executing specific daily projects.
- Gain practical experience by operating equipment, performing labor tasks, and assisting with maintenance.
- Conduct time-studies and research to identify efficiency improvements.
- Analyze operational data and processes to recommend improvements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Engineering program related to our operations, such as Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Previous work experience, preferably in a production or maintenance setting.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Computer drafting skills are a plus.
