About the role#
Dematic is seeking a Controls Engineer Co-Op to join our project implementation team. This role provides hands-on experience in engineering planning and execution, offering the opportunity to work alongside the Controls CAD team and contribute to system design and commissioning.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the development of layout and electrical schematic drawings using Maestro and AutoCAD-E.
- Support the creation of Bills of Material.
- Learn to identify and place various controls components within system designs.
- Gain foundational knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and their programming.
- Travel to North American job sites to assist with the commissioning of equipment and systems.
- Identify and resolve routine engineering problems, seeking guidance when encountering complex issues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
- Active pursuit of a degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or modeling software is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proactive, self-motivated approach.

- This position is based on-site at the Dematic office in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
- This is a paid, full-time co-op position with a rolling term.
