    About the role#

    Kimley-Horn is hiring engineering students for our Richmond, Virginia office. This is a full-time, on-site internship position with rolling start dates. You will work directly with project managers and teams to support civil engineering projects from design through permitting.

    What you'll do#

    • Use technical software to analyze data, create project deliverables, and perform quality control.
    • Assist with pre-construction design, planning, and analysis for projects of varying sizes.
    • Solve technical problems and work across different disciplines to meet client goals.
    • Learn federal, state, and local regulations relevant to our work.
    • Gain experience with company practices and client standards.
    • Train on industry software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro, or GIS.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree from an ABET accredited program.
    • Eligible majors include Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering, as well as Engineering Technology.

    • This position is located in Richmond, Virginia.
    • The role is on-site and requires full-time attendance.
    • This is a paid internship.
