About the role#
The Finance Analyst Intern supports project-based accounting and finance functions. At Kiewit, each project operates like a small business, and this role assists the Business Manager with cost control, payroll, accounts payable, and human capital management. You will gain experience with revenue components including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracts. This position is an integral part of the month-end close process and helps prepare financial reporting packages for project management.
What you'll do#
- Manage the payroll and HR workflow, including hiring, transfers, terminations, and employee payments.
- Oversee purchasing workflows, including how goods are ordered and how invoices are processed.
- Handle accounts payable tasks and troubleshoot payment or vendor discrepancies.
- Manage intercompany and client billing processes, focusing on how billing timing affects cash management.
- Review project costs, quantity claiming, budget structures, and exception reports to ensure financial data is accurate.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Business Administration.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- A valid Driver’s License.
- Willingness and ability to relocate anywhere in the country for the internship.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
