About the role#
Kiewit is hiring an Estimating Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within the Infrastructure Design Department in Lone Tree, Colorado. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Review, analyze, and interpret contract documents such as RFPs and specifications.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for design-build infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with estimators, engineers, and designers to provide constructability input and value engineering.
- Participate in task force meetings, brainstorming sessions, and working groups.
- Identify, quantify, and communicate project risks throughout the estimating process.
- Conduct site visits and investigations as necessary.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A GPA above 3.0 is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong mathematical and computer skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Lone Tree, Colorado.
- This is a full-time, temporary role for Summer 2027.
- Compensation ranges from $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on education and experience.
