About the role#
Kiewit is hiring a Civil/Transmission Line Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will join the Power Engineering team to assist with design duties for projects ranging from 12kV to 500kV. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Houston, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Create design documents and drawings for transmission line projects.
- Generate design criteria using PLS-CADD.
- Analyze transmission line, pole, and tower models with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS TOWER.
- Develop construction assembly drawings and material specifications.
- Coordinate project activities with engineers, vendors, and clients.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals.
- Familiarity with engineering standards such as NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
