About the role#
As a Finance Intern, you will support finance and accounting activities by gaining practical experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting. You will report to the Finance Manager and work cross-departmentally to evaluate business performance.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and present the gross margin of business segments monthly and provide recommendations to improve efficiency.
- Report on finance department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and assist in analyzing budget versus actual performance for revenue, costs, and operating expenses.
- Review weekly Accounts Receivable Aging Reports and assist with the invoicing process for schools, families, and customers.
- Support daily Accounts Payable management, including vendor payments and relationship maintenance.
- Build and analyze pricing models for school programs and conduct scenario-based gross margin analysis.
- Analyze the school portfolio and forecast the financial impact of incremental growth and new customers.
- Lead meetings with other departments to report and evaluate monthly gross margins for each program.
What you'll need#
- Recent graduate or current master's student seeking experience in organizational finance.
- Experience in data analytics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.
- Ability to work cross-departmentally.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York.
- Terms: Fall 2026 and Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: 25-35 hours per week for 14-18 weeks.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship, though class credit is available where applicable.
