About the role#
The Customer Service Intern supports our service team with daily administrative tasks and vehicle intake processes. This position provides hands-on experience in the truck service industry for students or individuals starting their careers. You will work on-site in Hammond and gain insight into how a service department functions from the initial customer greeting to the final repair.
What you'll do#
- Handle and route incoming branch calls.
- Greet customers and collect vehicle information when they arrive.
- Prepare service tickets including estimates for time, cost, and labor.
- Document customer concerns on repair orders to help our technicians.
- Assist with vehicle inspections, including taking photos and videos.
- Communicate repair updates and inspection results to customers.
- Shadow service advisors during appointment scheduling and general inquiries.
- Maintain service history records and repair authorizations.
- Assist with warranty claims processing and documentation.
- Review and close repair orders under supervision.
- Attend team meetings and training sessions.
- Keep your workspace clean and professional.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a continued education program.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Up to 6 months of customer service experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds for extended periods.
- Awareness of safety protocols in a shop environment with exposure to grease, dust, and moving parts.
