About the role#
As a Commodities Merchandising Intern at KENT WORLDWIDE, you will gain hands-on experience in grain merchandising, commodity markets, and feed ingredient procurement. You will work alongside industry professionals to understand how purchasing decisions impact business performance and how commodities move through the agricultural supply chain.
What you'll do#
- Learn the fundamentals of grain merchandising and feed ingredient procurement.
- Assist the buying team with corn and ingredient procurement activities.
- Gain exposure to supplier relationships, sourcing strategies, and customer engagement.
- Observe transportation, logistics, and supply chain processes.
- Analyze commodity market data to identify trends.
- Contribute to projects focused on procurement process improvements, freight spread analysis, and systems optimization.
- Support departmental goals and business decision-making through project work.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- A strong interest in agricultural commodity markets, grain merchandising, and supply chain operations.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and computer skills.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Previous coursework or experience related to agriculture, commodities, grain marketing, or supply chain is preferred.

- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Muscatine, Iowa.
- The position operates on a rolling basis.
