    About the role#

    KENT WORLDWIDE is hiring a Division Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Columbus, Mississippi. You will work alongside engineering and operations teams to support automation, equipment optimization, and process improvement projects. This role offers hands-on experience in manufacturing technology and continuous improvement initiatives.

    What you'll do#

    • Support engineering projects focused on safety, product quality, operational efficiency, and sustainability.
    • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to identify equipment upgrades and process improvements.
    • Troubleshoot production equipment, packaging systems, and automated processes using root cause analysis.
    • Monitor performance data to find ways to increase throughput and improve reliability.
    • Assist with the installation, startup, testing, and optimization of new equipment and automation systems.
    • Develop and update standard operating procedures, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
    • Analyze operational data to support engineering recommendations and business decisions.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering.
    • An interest in automation, robotics, manufacturing systems, controls, and industrial technology.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
    • Clear verbal, written, and technical communication skills.
    • Previous experience through internships, co-ops, robotics teams, or manufacturing projects is a plus.

    • Location: Columbus, Mississippi.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Travel: Up to 10 percent travel may be required for training or business support.
    • Environment: You will work in a facility that includes production and warehouse areas.
