About the role#
The Division Engineer Co-Op provides technical and engineering support to the Operations division at Kent Worldwide. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Washington, Indiana. The role involves a rolling term and requires regular attendance.
What you'll do#
- Manage capital and expense projects from the initial concept through to production. This includes preparing financial justifications, purchasing materials, tracking budgets, and overseeing installation.
- Propose innovations to improve safety, energy use, environmental impact, and equipment performance.
- Create training documentation for maintenance and operators, and lead equipment qualification processes.
- Analyze downtime records to find equipment issues and suggest improvements.
- Work with operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve daily process problems.
- Calculate material balances when processes change.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and cost estimates to meet manufacturing goals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors degree program for Chemical, Electrical, Agricultural, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous experience in an operations or manufacturing setting, ideally within a corn wet milling or similar industrial process.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Strong verbal and technical writing skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks at once.

- Travel: Up to 10 percent travel may be required for training or business needs.
