About the role#
K2 Space is looking for a Dynamics Engineering Intern to join the team for a 3 month period. You will help derive loads and environments for satellites during ground transportation, launch, deployment, and on-orbit operation. This role offers the opportunity to apply your academic background to real space hardware projects while working with mentors in a collaborative environment.
What you'll do#
- Own dynamic analysis, test, and correlation to identify system performance solutions.
- Execute a project that impacts our mission with support from a mentor.
- Use hand calculations, computational methods, and development tests to understand the physics behind your work.
- Engage with a cross-functional team to perform hardware trades.
- Solve aerospace challenges by applying knowledge from inside and outside the classroom.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or a relevant engineering discipline.
- 6+ months of experience applying technical engineering skills outside of the classroom, such as research, extracurricular project teams, or previous internships.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site at our headquarters in Torrance, California.
- You must be available for a minimum 12-week commitment.
