About the role#
K2 Space Corporation is seeking a GNC Engineering Intern for a 3-month term during Summer 2027. You will work alongside our GNC team to support the development of high-power satellite platforms. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to complex projects with a high level of ownership and autonomy.
What you'll do#
- Develop models within our in-house 6 DoF simulation.
- Test and refine GNC algorithms for attitude and orbit control to support spacecraft operations.
- Support actuator and sensor hardware trades for our next generation spacecraft.
- Assist in the verification and validation of space-grade flight software.
- Collaborate with mentors and team members to execute technical projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
- At least 6 months of experience applying engineering skills outside of the classroom, such as in research, labs, or extracurricular projects.
- Proficiency in Python, Julia, C/C++, or Matlab for algorithm development and simulation.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Torrance, California.
- Candidates must be available for a minimum 12-week duration.
