About the role#
This internship provides college students an opportunity to learn about the tobacco manufacturing environment. You will assist with implementing IWS standards at the Danville RMC factory. This is a three-month, full-time, paid contract role.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to create maintenance standards for line equipment.
- Work with mechanics and electricians to write instructions for troubleshooting, machine adjustments, and fixing equipment issues.
- Coordinate with maintenance and electrical departments to establish safety stock levels for spare parts.
- Partner with the cell structure team to develop new IWS system standards.
- Complete other tasks as requested by the Maintenance Manager.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Current enrollment in an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree program.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft applications.
- A self-motivated approach and the ability to work well in a team.
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering skills are a plus.
