About the role#
Jordan's Furniture is looking for an Instructional Design Intern to join our Learning & Development team for Summer 2027. This 10-week paid internship offers hands-on experience in creating training materials, e-learning content, and employee development resources. You will work on real projects that support our retail and corporate teams while exploring adult learning principles and modern learning technologies.
What you'll do#
- Design learner-centered training experiences and take ownership of a meaningful instructional design project.
- Create learning objectives, storyboards, content outlines, and design documents.
- Develop and maintain instructor-led, virtual, and e-learning materials like presentations, job aids, videos, and guides.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to complete training needs analysis.
- Apply instructional design best practices to improve knowledge retention and skill development.
- Gather learner feedback and evaluate training effectiveness to support program improvements.
- Research emerging trends in workplace learning and employee development.
- Organize and maintain learning assets, templates, and content repositories.
- Partner with stakeholders across Sales, Customer Service, Distribution, and corporate departments.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising college junior or senior pursuing a degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- You are creative, detail-oriented, and able to organize information clearly.
- You are comfortable using technology and eager to learn new content creation tools.
- You are a proactive, self-motivated learner.
- Experience creating presentations, videos, or educational resources is a plus.
- Prior experience in presenting, customer service, or Human Resources is preferred but not required.
