About the role#
Johnsonville is hiring a Packaging Engineering Co-op for an 8-month term at the Technical Center in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You can choose to start in either Winter 2027 or Summer 2027. You will work within the Research and Development team, collaborating with Marketing, Manufacturing, and Engineering departments, as well as external customers and suppliers.
What you'll do#
- Design new packages or improve existing ones to meet cost and functional requirements.
- Create package protocepts using drawings, descriptions, and computer design software.
- Facilitate plant trials for new packaging materials and equipment.
- Adapt and modify current production lines and equipment for new processing applications.
- Troubleshoot issues and perform analysis related to production, products, and materials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior or senior in a Packaging Engineering or Mechanical Engineering program.
- Minimum 2.70 overall GPA and a 3.0 GPA in your core packaging concentration.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Strong work ethic, leadership skills, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Prior work experience is preferred.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
