About the role#
Johnsonville is hiring an Operations Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will join our Operations Team in Sheboygan Falls to work with plant leadership on standardizing processes across our facilities. This is a paid, full-time opportunity where you will contribute to real projects while gaining hands-on experience in food production.
What you'll do#
- Review Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistency across all facilities.
- Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, sanitation, safety, and reliability teams to learn plant workflows.
- Lead or participate in projects that reduce waste, streamline processes, and improve quality.
- Collect and analyze OEE and downtime data to support performance tracking.
- Develop and present recommendations to improve existing SOPs.
- Maintain accurate work records in project reports and notebooks.
- Share your findings and questions with team members while working both independently and in group settings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or Operations Management.
- Junior or senior status is preferred with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to work off shifts when required.
- Willingness to travel to various facilities near campus.
- A self-starter mindset with a drive for excellence.
- Must be at least 18 years old and able to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Previous work experience is preferred.
