About the role#
Johnsonville is hiring an Operations Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Holton, Kansas. You will join the Operations Team to work with plant leadership on standardizing processes across facilities. This is a paid, full-time position that requires on-site work.
What you'll do#
- Review Standard Operating Procedures for consistency across all facilities.
- Gain hands-on experience with plant workflows by collaborating with production, quality, maintenance, sanitation, safety, and reliability excellence functions.
- Participate in or lead projects to streamline processes, reduce waste, boost efficiency, and improve quality.
- Collect and analyze OEE and downtime data.
- Make recommendations to improve and strengthen existing SOPs.
- Work independently and with multiple site Operations Teams.
- Develop insight into daily operations and maintain accurate work records in project reports.
- Share ideas, questions, and results with team members.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Operations Management, with junior or senior status preferred.
- A minimum 3.0 overall GPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to work off shifts as needed and travel to facilities near campus.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Previous work experience is preferred.
- A self-starter mindset with a drive for excellence and a desire to learn in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
