About the role#
Johnsonville is hiring an Operations Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will join the Operations Team in Denmark, Wisconsin, to work with plant leadership on standardizing processes across facilities. This role involves applying your academic knowledge to real projects while working alongside production, quality, maintenance, safety, and reliability teams.
What you'll do#
- Review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for consistency across all facilities and make recommendations for improvements.
- Participate in or lead projects to reduce waste, boost efficiency, and enhance quality.
- Collect and analyze OEE and downtime data to support performance tracking and decision-making.
- Gain hands-on experience with plant workflows.
- Document your work in notebooks and project reports.
- Share your questions, ideas, and results with team members.
- Work both independently and collaboratively within site Operations Teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or Operations Management.
- Junior or senior status is preferred with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to work off shifts as needed and travel to various facilities near campus.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Previous work experience is preferred.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information.
- A self-starter mindset with a strong drive for excellence.
