About the role#
This is a part-time student position based in Waterloo, Iowa. You will work with maintenance engineers to support equipment reliability and continuous improvement projects at the John Deere Waterloo Works facility. This role involves data analysis, technical documentation, and collaboration with operations and engineering teams to improve equipment uptime.
What you'll do#
- Support maintenance engineers with equipment reliability and continuous improvement projects.
- Assist with preventive maintenance reviews and optimization efforts.
- Analyze maintenance data using SAP, Power BI, Excel, and other reporting tools to identify trends.
- Maintain equipment asset records, bills of material, spare parts information, and technical documentation.
- Support maintenance cost reduction initiatives through data collection, analysis, and project execution.
- Partner with skilled trades personnel, planners, and engineering teams.
- Develop visual management tools, reports, and dashboards to track project progress.
- Assist with energy reduction and facility improvement projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student at a U.S. accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Civil, Environmental, or Computer Engineering, Business Administration, or Data Science.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
Location & details#
- Location: Waterloo, Iowa.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 16-20 hours per week during the academic year and 30-40 hours per week during the summer.
- Term: Rolling.
