About the role#
As a Legal Intern, you will work directly with the General Counsel at JFK International Air Terminal. You will support the legal team on various projects related to aviation, employment, real estate, insurance, and torts. This role involves collaboration with colleagues across the company to gather information for your projects. You will receive regular guidance and feedback from the General Counsel.
What you'll do#
- Review, draft, negotiate, and track contracts.
- Monitor compliance with insurance requirements and other contractual obligations.
- Coordinate information requests from litigation counsel.
- Review, update, and maintain company policies, procedures, and governance documents.
- Develop and oversee records management practices.
- Evaluate and assist in the selection of document and contract management systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college sophomore, junior, senior, or law student.
- An interest in aviation, employment, real estate, insurance, and torts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and obtain federally mandated security clearances.
- Previous experience with office work is preferred.

- Location: Jamaica, New York.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Hours: 20 to 28 hours per week.
- Compensation: $22.00 per hour.
- Status: Paid, non-exempt.
