About the role#
The Jersey City Housing Authority is hiring an intern for the Fall 2026 term to support the RISE Foundation. You will work on-site to assist with event planning, community workshops, and outreach activities across various housing sites. This role provides hands-on experience in community engagement and connects residents with local resources.
What you'll do#
- Plan and coordinate events, workshops, and outreach activities.
- Promote programs using flyers, email, social media, and direct outreach.
- Manage event logistics including setup, registration, and attendance tracking.
- Gather feedback through surveys, sign-in sheets, and conversations with participants.
- Maintain outreach calendars, contact lists, and program documentation.
- Participate in staff meetings and assist with data entry and document organization.
What you'll need#
- You must meet the eligibility requirements for the New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education (OSHE) Fall 2026 Career Accelerator Internship Grant Program.
- Current status as an undergraduate or graduate student, or eligibility as a recent college graduate.
- Preferred fields of study include Business Administration, Communications, Public Health, Sociology, or Political Science.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with residents, staff, and community partners.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

- This is an on-site internship based in Jersey City, New Jersey.
- This position is paid at $20.00 per hour.
