About the role#
Dodge County is hiring a part-time Food Service Worker to join our team in Juneau, Wisconsin. This role is open to students and involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining kitchen sanitation, and supporting dining operations. The position offers a starting wage of $16.85 per hour, with an additional $3.00 per hour for weekend shifts. Availability every other weekend is required, and students will be assigned to a holiday group.
What you'll do#
- Prepare hot dish ingredients and cold-serve foods.
- Assist the Cook in preparing high-quality, bulk quantities of menu items following established recipes.
- Maintain compliance with food handling safety standards and sanitation procedures.
- Wash and sanitize dishes, counters, kitchen equipment, and floors to meet Health Department standards.
- Set up serving lines and serve meals as needed.
- Clear and clean tables and chairs after use.
- Monitor and report changes in resident conditions and track diet changes.
- Empty trash receptacles and restock condiments and silverware.
- Report any unsafe conditions, hazardous equipment, or accidents immediately.
What you'll need#
- Ability to follow recipes and prepare food in large quantities.
- Knowledge of quality food preparation, storage, sanitation, and equipment safety.
- Understanding of PPE and its proper use for personal safety.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident care information and protect privacy per HIPAA.
- Ability to work tactfully and cooperatively with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including the occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work in environments with exposure to extreme heat, cold, and cleaning chemicals.
Location & details#
- Location: Juneau, Wisconsin.
- Schedule: General hours are 3:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with additional hours available on weekends, during the summer, and during school breaks.
- Status: Part-time, non-exempt.
