About the role#
This HR Recruitment Intern role supports the hiring process for Apachi Day Camp and Camp Chi. You will gain experience in sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates for seasonal roles like counselors and specialists. You will also learn about compliance, safety requirements, and background checks while helping ensure a positive experience for both applicants and hiring managers.
What you'll do#
- Support the recruitment team with seasonal hiring for Apachi Day Camp and Camp Chi.
- Post and manage job openings on platforms including Indeed and Handshake.
- Prepare data import Excel spreadsheets for camp hire uploads.
- Source and screen candidates for seasonal camp positions.
- Conduct research, gather data, and run reporting in CampMinder, Handshake, and Indeed.
- Assist with promotional materials for social media, email campaigns, and job fairs.
- Maintain documentation and ensure information is accurate.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate program (junior or senior year) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience navigating Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license held for at least 24 months.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information.
Location & details#
- Location: Northbrook, Illinois.
- Term: Fall 2026 through Spring 2027 (November 9, 2026, to May 7, 2027).
- Modality: On-site with potential for hybrid work after onboarding.
- Compensation: This is a paid position at $17.05 per hour.
- Schedule: 7 to 9 hours per week during training (November to December) and 10 to 12 hours per week during role immersion (January to May), scheduled between Monday and Thursday, 9AM to 5PM.
